Enclosed are the current 2009 Brodak Perky Rules. They are subject to periodic safety updates.
Power choice is a single .14 to .1525 cu. in. glow or diesel engine.
Pilots must use 52'-6" lines, 2 X .014 Solids, which is the present minimum safety requirement for AMA Sanctioned Events.
The line length is measured from the center of the handle to the center of the center/line of the fuselage.
Brodak will supply the fuel for each flight. It will consist of 10% nitro, 10% castor, 10%synthetic and 70% methanol.
No pressure tanks are allowed.
A straight-tubing mini-pipe exhaust will be allowed. No megaphones, flared ends, or tuned pipes may be used.
We will accept only one entry per engine.
Two 1-3/8 to 1-1/2" sized wheels are required.
A 1 1/2" or 1 3/4" spinner is mandatory.
Your Perky model is to be built to conform to Perky plan outlines.
Construction modifications are allowed, but outlines must be maintained. Note that the spinner must fit where the plans show. Motor mount modifications might have to be made, to allow your engine to fit the correct spinner location.
Time will be measured by a mile length (16 laps) flight time. Timing will begin from the model’s release, and stop at the conclusion of one mile.
The winning flight will be the nearest-to-the-average time of all entries. The top three places (nearest-to-average time) will count.
Any speeds in excess of 80mph will be thrown out.
The top speed will also be posted, but no award is given.
All flight times will also be posted to Black Hawk Models.
A proper safety thong must be used during all flight times.
Pull-tests are one pound per ounce or, a 16G pull test. The pull-test also includes pull-testing the thong separately at 16G
